Online Monitoring Systems for Transformers, Switchgear, Cables and Power Quality

Twenty monitoring systems in four families. These are installed instruments that watch equipment while it stays in service — they report continuously to a control room or a maintenance team, instead of measuring once during an outage.

The four monitoring families

  • Transformer monitoring — dissolved gas analysis, partial discharge, winding temperature, core and clamp earth current, bushing insulation, vibration and anti-theft monitoring, from the HF-T-601 smart transformer anti-theft monitoring device through to the HF-T-608 bushing monitor. This is the group that turns a substation from scheduled maintenance into condition-based maintenance.
  • Switchgear monitoring — SF6 gas density and leakage, contact and busbar temperature, partial discharge and circuit breaker condition, from the HF-W-701 SF6 gas density monitor to the HF-W-704 circuit breaker monitoring unit.
  • Cable monitoring — the HF-C-202 cable sheath grounding current monitor covers 0–300 A at 50 Hz with sensitivity of ±0.1 A or better, accuracy of reading ×1 % + 0.5 A and a 1 ms sampling period, using split-core clamp-on current transformers that are installed on live lines and withstand DC 10 kV for 1 minute. Cable temperature monitoring with the HF-C-203 cable temperature online monitoring system covers −55 °C to +125 °C at ±0.5 °C with ±0.1 °C resolution, up to 256 acquisition terminals with four temperature channels each, over Zigbee and GPRS/4G.
  • Power quality monitoring — single-channel, dual-channel and 8-channel monitors (HF-PQ-201, HF-PQ-202, HF-PQ-203) and the HF-PQ-206 harmonic monitoring unit.

How to choose a monitoring system

Decide what you must trend, how the data leaves the substation and who reads it. Sensors that clamp on without a shutdown remove the main obstacle to installing monitoring on existing equipment, and the communication output — RS485, Ethernet, 4G or IEC 61850 — decides whether the data lands in your existing SCADA or in a separate platform.

Every system in this section is sourced from qualified partner factories in China, verified and tested against its datasheet before shipment and delivered with its test documentation. Houfeng is a trading company and supplier, not a manufacturer.
