What is in this section

• Current path and resistance — the HF-WC-601 loop resistance tester covers 0–19999 mΩ at 0.5 % reading ±100 digits with 0.01 mΩ resolution, available with 100 A to 500 A current outputs on an AC 220 V supply, and the HF-WC-602 handheld contact resistance tester measures 5 μΩ–25 mΩ at 50 A and 5 μΩ–10 mΩ at 100 A with 0.01 μΩ minimum resolution. Also the HF-WC-603 micro ohmmeter and the HF-WC-629 switch contact resistance tester.
• Mechanical characteristics and timing — the HF-WC-605 switchgear mechanical characteristic analyzer, the HF-WC-606 circuit breaker analyzer, the HF-WC-615 circuit breaker simulator, the HF-WC-617 DC switch ampere-second characteristic tester and the HF-WC-631 DC circuit breaker tester.

How to choose switchgear test instruments

Work from the test item, not the instrument: breaker timing and travel need a mechanical analyzer, current-path quality needs a loop or contact resistance set at the right injection current, and SF6 work is split by what you must report — moisture, purity, decomposition products or leak rate. Confirm the voltage class, the injection current the standard requires and whether the instrument runs from mains or its own battery.
