Send your requirements, we will quote for you within 12 hours
The HF-WC-602 Handheld Loop Resistance Tester is elaborately developed as a high-precision digital switch testing device in accordance with China’s latest power industry standard DL/T845.4-2019, leveraging our proprietary core technologies.
This tester is specially designed for accurate measurement of contact resistance (loop resistance) on high-voltage switches. It also applies to all scenarios requiring high-current & micro-resistance detection. Featuring reliable performance and precise test readings, it fully meets the loop resistance testing demands for field maintenance teams of power supply bureaus and high-voltage switch manufacturers.
For conventional loop resistance testing, one side of the earthing busbar on the tested switch shall be disconnected to eliminate measurement errors caused by current shunting through the grounding grid.

FAQ | Handheld Contact Resistance Tester
1. What is a handheld contact resistance tester used for?
This portable device accurately measures micro-ohm contact resistance of circuit breakers, switches and busbar joints. It is widely applied for on-site power equipment inspection and daily maintenance.
2. Why adopt the 4-wire Kelvin measurement technology?
The four-wire design removes extra resistance errors from test cables and clamps, delivering highly precise readings for tiny resistance values.
3. Why do test values keep fluctuating during measurement?
Unstable data is mainly caused by oxidized, dirty terminals or loosely fixed clamps. Clean contact points and tighten all clips firmly before retesting.
4. The device shows a poor connection warning, how to solve it?
Inspect damaged test leads, loose plugs or unfixed clamps. Reconnect all wires properly to eliminate the connection fault.
5. What is the correct placement for voltage and current clamps?
Voltage sampling clamps must be placed inside current clamps. This layout is essential to ensure accurate measurement results.
6. How to select the suitable test current?
100A DC is the standard option for high-voltage switches, while 50A is reserved for small low-voltage switching devices.
7. Is continuous long-duration high-current testing available?
No. Prolonged high-current output will overheat internal components. Allow sufficient cooling time between multiple tests.
8. What does OL displayed on the screen mean?
OL refers to over range. It appears due to open circuits, faulty wiring or severely worn switch contacts. Please check the whole circuit.
9. Can I carry out tests on live powered equipment?
Testing energized equipment is strictly prohibited. Cut off power completely and ground the tested gear beforehand for safety.
10. How to store the tester properly when not in use?
Store the whole set in the matched carrying case within a dry, dust-free space. Organize test cables neatly to avoid wire breakage.
11. Can this instrument test transformer winding resistance?
It is not recommended. This tester is professionally customized for switch contact resistance rather than inductive windings.
