Accurate monitoring of the operating condition of power transformers is essential for all power utilities. Collected measurement data facilitates scheduled transformer maintenance and effectively prevents unexpected equipment failures.
Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) is universally recognized as the most effective predictive maintenance technology to detect incipient faults in oil-filled electrical apparatus. It is widely adopted for routine condition assessment of oil-immersed power transformers, reactors, instrument transformers, on-load tap changers, circuit breakers, oil-filled bushings and other power assets. Monitoring the composition and concentration of dissolved gases in insulating oil is the prime solution to guarantee the safe operation of oil-filled electrical equipment.
The HF-TC-621 Dissolved Gas Analyzer performs multi-component dissolved gas testing based on Photoacoustic Spectroscopy (PAS). The PAS technology delivers ultra-precise detection with a short optical path. Its superior sensitivity originates from the patented enhanced cantilever optical microphone technology, enabling a linear dynamic range ratio up to 5 orders of magnitude.
Seven narrow-band optical filters realize sub-ppm detection limits, eliminating interference from background gases and minimizing cross-sensitivity across different spectral bands. Built around infrared photoacoustic spectroscopy, the instrument is equipped with pulsed infrared light sources that generate seven mid-infrared spectral bands via narrowband filters for comprehensive multi-gas analysis.
