Working Principle

The HF-CH-219 High Voltage Cable Spiking Tool consists of spiking guns and a controller. The spiking gun is a low-speed piston-type special device designed for cable spiking. It features compact structure and flexible mounting at any angle.
The controller adopts high-performance electronic detection circuits. The tool remotely launches a metal pin to short-circuit the cable. If the cable is live, obvious arcing and discharge will appear. If no discharge occurs, the cable is confirmed de-energized.

A single gun can only generate one short-circuit point on the cable, while dual guns create two points. Three-phase cables are normally arranged in triangular formation. Single-point spiking may hit the gap between phases without penetrating conductors, failing to form effective short-circuit.
Dual-gun configuration is recommended. When the included angle is not 120°, at least one gun can successfully puncture and create a reliable short-circuit.
