The Cable Damped Oscillating Wave Test System (OWTS) is an integrated testing instrument for medium-voltage power cables. Adopting the damped oscillating wave principle, it performs both AC withstand voltage tests and partial discharge detection. It accurately finds hidden insulation faults on cable bodies and joints. Compliant with IEC 60270 standards, it is used for handover acceptance of new cables and preventive maintenance of aged cables. The dual-function design greatly improves field testing efficiency.
Product Description: Cable Damped Oscillating Wave Test System (OWTS)
Our Cable Damped Oscillating Wave Test System, also known as OWTS, is a dual-functional all-in-one testing equipment tailored for 35kV and below medium-voltage XLPE power cables. It ingeniously integrates variable frequency series resonance AC withstand voltage testing and damped oscillating wave partial discharge inspection into one unit, eliminating the need to purchase two separate devices and cutting your procurement costs significantly.
In strict accordance with the IEC 60270 international standard, the device generates damped oscillating waves to excite tiny partial discharge signals inside cable insulation. It can accurately detect and precisely locate hidden insulation defects, cable joint damage and aging problems with positioning accuracy up to 1% of total cable length. Built-in combined hardware and software anti-interference technology guarantees stable and reliable test data even at complex electromagnetic field sites such as substations.
Equipped with professional analysis software, the system automatically adjusts test voltage, collects real-time waveforms, records discharge volume data, stores test records and generates standardized test reports with one click. It is widely applicable for handover acceptance tests of newly laid cables before commissioning, as well as regular preventive diagnostic maintenance for aging out-of-service power cables. Portable modular structure and shockproof packaging facilitate convenient transportation and on-site field testing worldwide.
