Application of Transformer DC Winding Resistance Tester
1. Factory Quality Inspection for Transformers
It is a compulsory test for semi-finished and finished transformers before delivery. It detects manufacturing defects including unqualified winding materials, poor welding, loose wiring terminals, broken strands and internal wire breakage to verify product qualification.
2. Handover & Acceptance of Power Engineering
Conduct on-site tests on newly installed transformers before commissioning in substations and power distribution projects. It serves as a core acceptance standard to confirm correct wiring and eliminate poor contact issues.
3. Routine Preventive Maintenance of Power Grid
- Regularly measure DC resistance of three-phase windings and calculate three-phase unbalance rate to quickly locate winding faults.
- Troubleshoot common failures such as poor contact, wrong tap positions and oxidized/burned contacts of tap changers.
- Inspect transformers after short-circuit trips to check for inter-turn short circuits, wire breakage and winding deformation.
4. Testing of Other Electrical Equipment
Measure winding resistance of reactors, current transformers and voltage transformers. It also tests contact resistance and connectivity of copper busbars, cables and circuit breaker contacts.
5. Data Archiving and Traceability
Equipped with functions of data storage, printing and temperature conversion. Test records can be filed for later review, fault analysis and data comparison.
