Operation Instructions for Medical Ground Resistance Tester

Preparatory Work

Place the tester on a flat, stable desktop. Connect the power cord to the AC 220V mains supply, and link the dedicated test leads between the instrument terminals and the ground terminals of the medical device to be tested correctly. Check all wiring to avoid loose connections or short circuits.

Parameter Setting

Switch on the device power. Set the output test current within the range of 5~30A as required. Preset the leakage ground resistance alarm threshold according to medical safety specifications. Enable or disable the open-circuit alarm function based on test demands, and set the testing duration (select continuous testing by setting the time to 0.0s if needed).

Start Formal Measurement

Press the test start key. The screen will synchronously display real-time test current, elapsed testing time and measured ground resistance value. The four-terminal measurement structure automatically eliminates contact resistance errors to guarantee accurate readings.

Alarm Judgment & Result Recording

Once the measured resistance exceeds the preset alarm limit, the tester will trigger an audible and visual alarm to remind operators of unqualified grounding conditions. Record all test data for inspection archives.

Post-test Shutdown Steps

After finishing all tests, stop the testing output first, cut off the instrument power supply, disconnect the test wires and power cable, then tidy up all accessories for proper storage.

Notes

Operate in an environment of 0℃~40℃ with humidity ≤85%RH. Do not conduct testing under damp or corrosive surroundings. The optional PLC interface can be connected to upper computers for automatic data acquisition if required.

FAQ for Medical Ground Resistance Tester

Q1: What standard does this medical ground resistance tester comply with?

A: It fully conforms to GB9706.1-2020 and IEC60601-1:2012 international medical electrical equipment safety standards, specially designed for medical industry grounding safety tests.

Q2: What is the principle of four-terminal measurement adopted by the device? What benefits does it bring?

A: The four-wire testing method separates current loop and voltage sampling loop. It can completely exclude the interference of wire and contact resistance, greatly improving measurement accuracy for tiny grounding resistance.

Q3: What output current range is available for testing? Can I adjust it freely?

A: The adjustable output current is 5~30A with tolerance ±5%. Users can set proper current values according to different medical device testing requirements.

Q4: How to set the testing time? What does 0.0s mean?

A: Testing time ranges from 0.0s to 999s. When set to 0.0s, the instrument works in continuous testing mode without automatic stop.

Q5: What will happen if the measured grounding resistance exceeds the preset alarm value?

A: The tester will activate sound and light leakage alarm promptly to notify operators that the medical equipment grounding condition is unqualified. The alarm threshold can be continuously adjusted in advance.

Q6: Can I turn on or off the open-circuit alarm function?

A: Yes. The open-circuit alarm function is optional. Users can enable or disable this reminding function according to actual testing scenarios.

Q7: Why can the instrument resist mains voltage fluctuation?

A: It is equipped with divider arithmetic circuit for resistance display, which offsets the influence of grid voltage swings, lowering dependence on power supply stability.

Q8: Is PLC communication interface standard equipped? What is its use?

A: The PLC interface is optional. After assembly, it can connect to upper control systems to realize automatic data transmission, unmanned testing and batch data recording for production lines.

Q9: What working environment is suitable for the tester?

A: Ambient temperature: 0℃ ~ 40℃; Relative humidity: ≤85%RH, no condensation, corrosive gas or conductive dust is allowed.

Q10: What accessories are included in standard delivery? What optional parts can be purchased additionally?

A: Standard accessories: test leads and power cord. Optional parts: PLC interface kit, RK00002 connecting cable, RK301 terminal box.

Q11: What resistance ranges can this instrument measure?

A: Two measuring ranges: 10.0~199.9mΩ and 200~600mΩ, suitable for all kinds of medical equipment grounding resistance detection.
