Overview

Smart Substation Digital Relay Protection Tester supports IEC 61850 communication, capable of simulating various power system faults. It tests digital protection devices and merging units, widely applied in commissioning, inspection and maintenance of smart substations and digital power grids.

Functional Requirements of HF-RT-216 Smart Substation Digital Protection Tester

Integrates optical digital testing and low analog signal testing, and allows connection to an external current and voltage power amplifier.
It supports output of 8 independent SMV messages complying with IEC60044-8 (FT3) plus 1 input channel. Synchronous/asynchronous transmission and multiple baud rates are available. Encoded pulses adopt strict 50:50 duty cycle to prevent decoding errors.
It provides 8-channel SMV message outputs conforming to IEC61850-9-2 with equally spaced sampling points, satisfying the latest State Grid standards.
It supports 24 independent digital outputs (12U+12I), which facilitates commissioning of three-winding transformer differential protection, automatic bus transfer equipment and other devices.
The tester automatically detects optical digital signals to complete auto-configuration of SMV and GOOSE information, and supports virtual terminal testing.
Built-in message waveform capture function: it receives and parses IEC61850-9-2 SMV and GOOSE messages for device self-loop testing. Optical digital signals from Merging Units (MUs) and other IEDs can be acquired, with real-time display of waveforms, amplitude, phase angle and frequency. Message recording and message analysis are also available.
Multiple groups of GOOSE messages can be transmitted and received. SMV and GOOSE optical transceivers support flexible configuration, either sharing one optical port or working independently.
The tester fully interprets ICD, CID, SCD and other protection model files. It automatically configures current/voltage channels, scaling factors, ASDU quantity, sampling rate and GOOSE parameters to simplify protection testing and boost efficiency.
It supports advanced message tests including frame loss, abnormal sampling points, frame disorder, invalid quality bits, loss of synchronization flag and wrong value injection.
Time synchronization modes include GPS, IRIG-B and IEEE1588. Commissioning for automatic bus transfer devices is supported.
It features 12 independent analog/low-signal outputs, compatible with protection devices using electronic transformer signals. When connected to third-party power amplifiers, it enables comparative testing between conventional and digital protection systems.
Equipped with 8 binary inputs, 6 binary outputs and 2 pairs of high-speed binary outputs. Together with GOOSE communication, full closed-loop protection testing can be realized.
Rich software functions support tests for line protection, busbar protection, transformer protection, generator-transformer unit protection, automatic bus transfer devices, etc.
Standard COMTRADE waveform playback is supported.
Software supports on-site upgrades and runs on all mainstream Windows operating systems. New versions can be updated directly without hardware modification.
