Product Overview

The self-developed HF-WC-623 Ultrasonic Partial Discharge Inspection Tester collects abnormal ultrasonic signals from power lines and analyzes data via built-in software to identify various latent line faults.
It enables fault location and type identification under live operating conditions without power outage. An ultrasonic probe captures abnormal ultrasonic signals and transmits them to the main unit. The built-in analytical software accurately classifies hidden faults and evaluates their severity levels, converting signals into audible sound and waveforms. This assists inspectors in timely detecting potential failures, averting severe power accidents, eliminating unnecessary power cuts, boosting power supply reliability, raising inspection efficiency and lessening labor intensity for field staff.

Functional Features

  1. Portable structure with compact size and light weight for easy carrying; operable by a single person.
  2. Handheld non-contact live detection; visual waveform display plus audible sound output.
  3. Live scanning for outdoor substation equipment to detect and locate partial discharge phenomena including corona, electric arc, flashover, tracking discharge, wire breakage and drawing arc.
  4. Locates insulator discharge on transmission towers, creepage discharge of outdoor cable terminals, as well as partial discharge of underground cables.
  5. Detects leakage of sealed high-pressure gas and liquid.
  6. For handover tests and preventive maintenance tests in power systems, it can be used alongside partial discharge testers for main transformers and GIS equipment. It distinguishes internal and external partial discharge and pinpoints exact external discharge positions.
  7. During factory acceptance tests of large oil-immersed transformers, dry-type transformers, GIS and other equipment for manufacturers, this handheld locator works with PD testers to rapidly find external discharge points. If no external discharge is detected, the discharge source is confirmed to be internal.
  8. Equipped with a 5-megapixel high-definition camera to focus on fault points and snap photos of tower markers and defective equipment.
  9. Built-in GPS module automatically records coordinate data and supports GPS navigation for storing and reviewing inspection routes.
  10. Real-time ambient temperature and humidity monitoring function.
  11. Supports data storage and historical data playback.
  12. Adopts color touch screen for intuitive and convenient operation.
  13. Equipped with moderate-power green laser aiming beam, easy to track even under direct sunlight.
  14. High sensitivity and strong directivity for precise positioning of line faults.
  15. Superior focusing performance, allowing inspection onboard vehicles traveling at up to 30 km/h.
  16. Ultrasonic measurement immune to ambient noise, applicable to noisy working sites.
  17. Non-contact measurement with a maximum effective detection distance of 30 meters, ensuring high operational safety.
  18. Dedicated background software supports convenient data management and condition assessment.

FAQ: Ultrasonic Partial Discharge Tester (HF-WC-623)

Suitable for Google SEO, overseas B2B customers, power station & electrical contractors inquiry

Q1: What is the working principle of this ultrasonic partial discharge tester?

A: It captures ultrasonic waves generated by partial discharge, corona, creepage and air leakage inside high-voltage equipment. Built-in software converts signals into audible sound and waveforms to locate insulation defects without power cut.

Q2: Can this device work on live high voltage equipment?

A: Yes. It adopts non-contact ultrasonic detection. Operators can safely inspect energized switchgear, GIS, transformers, cables and outdoor insulators with no power outage required.

Q3: What is the maximum effective detection distance?

A: The effective non-contact testing distance reaches up to 30 meters. It features strong directivity and focusing performance for accurate fault pinpointing.

Q4: What types of partial discharge faults can it detect?

A: It identifies corona discharge, arc, flashover, tracking discharge, wire breakage, arcing, as well as high-pressure gas & liquid leakage of sealed electrical equipment.

Q5: Can it distinguish internal discharge and external discharge of GIS/transformers?

A: Definitely. Cooperated with conventional PD detectors during preventive & handover tests, it quickly finds external discharge points. No external discharge detected means the fault source is inside the equipment.

Q6: What ambient conditions are applicable for testing?

A: Operating temperature: -25℃ ~ 70℃; applicable relative humidity: 0~95%. Ultrasonic testing is anti-interference and works normally in noisy field environments.

Q7: How long does the built-in lithium battery last for continuous work?

A: Equipped with 14.8V 2600mAh lithium battery, the continuous working time is more than 8 hours, meeting all-day outdoor substation inspection demands.

Q8: Does this tester support data storage, playback and positioning?

A: Yes. It stores testing waveforms, GPS coordinates, timestamp and ambient temperature & humidity records. Saved data can be played back and managed via supporting background PC software.

Q9: What extra auxiliary functions are equipped?

A: It comes with green laser aiming, 5MP HD camera for fault photographing, GPS navigation, real-time temperature & humidity measurement, and color touch screen for easy operation.

Q10: Is factory calibration certificate and user manual provided together?

A: Each set is delivered with English user manual, factory calibration certificate and pre-installed TF memory card. We also provide after-sales technical guidance for overseas users.

Q11: Can inspection be carried out on moving vehicles?

A: Supported. Excellent focusing capability allows stable detection when the vehicle runs at a speed up to 30km/h for rapid line patrol.

Q12: What is the frequency measurement range of the sensor?

A: Frequency range: 20kHz~150kHz; central frequency: 40kHz, which is the optimal band for power equipment partial discharge ultrasonic signals.
