Operating Environment

  1. Power Supply: 220V or 380V ±10%, 50Hz
  2. Ambient Temperature: -10℃ ~ 40℃
  3. The surrounding area shall be free of gas, vapor, chemically deposited dust, dirt and other explosive media that may seriously damage transformer insulation.

Operating Instructions & Precautions

  1. The instrument must be properly earthed.
  2. Switch on power supply and turn on the switch. The red indicator lights up, indicating the current booster is ready for current boosting.
  3. Rotate the voltage regulator clockwise evenly, observe the output current indicator on the console until the required high current is reached.
  4. If any abnormal condition occurs during the test, cut off the power supply immediately. Do not resume testing until the cause is identified.
  5. After the test, return the voltage regulator to zero, cut off power via air switch, disconnect the working power supply, then remove test wiring in sequence to ensure safety.

Important Notes

  1. For newly installed or long-idle equipment, measure insulation resistance between windings and between windings and earth with a 1500V megohmmeter before operation. The resistance shall not be lower than 0.5MΩ before use.
  2. The step-up transformer and operation console must be reliably earthed during operation.
  3. Adjust current slowly and evenly during operation; avoid severe vibration during transportation.
  4. Keep the contact surface between voltage regulator and carbon brush clean. Wipe clean with gauze dipped in 90% alcohol when necessary.
  5. Store the equipment indoors in a clean, ventilated and dry location.

Standard Accessories of High Current Generator

  2. Product Certificate: 1 copy
  3. Operation Manual: 1 copy

FAQ | High Current Signal Generator

Q1: What is a High Current Signal Generator used for?

A: It outputs adjustable high-power analog current signals, mainly for protective relay testing, current transformer calibration and power system secondary circuit commissioning.

Q2: What waveform types can this generator produce?

A: Standard unit outputs sine wave. Custom versions support square wave and other waveforms upon request.

Q3: Can the output current amplitude and frequency be adjusted independently?

A: Yes. Both output current magnitude and frequency are continuously adjustable within the rated range.

Q4: Is the device suitable for long-duration continuous testing?

A: It supports continuous operation under rated load. Avoid long-time full-load running without proper ventilation.

Q5: What power supply does the high current signal generator require?

A: Standard input: AC 220V / 380V, 50Hz. Custom power voltage options are available.

Q6: Does it come with protection functions?

A: Equipped with over-current, over-temperature and short-circuit protection to protect the unit and test samples.

Q7: Can it test multiple relays at the same time?

A: It depends on total load impedance. Multiple devices can be connected if the total load is within rated parameters.

Q8: What structure options are available? Integrated or split type?

A: We provide integrated compact models and split large-current versions for your selection.

Q9: How to store the equipment when not in use?

A: Store in dry, ventilated indoor environment. Keep away from corrosive gas and dust.

Q10: Is calibration certificate available upon shipment?

A: Factory test report is provided. Third-party calibration documents can be supplied as extra service.
