Operating Environment

  1. Operating power supply: 380 V
  2. Ambient temperature: -10℃ ~ 40℃
  3. The surrounding area shall be free of gas, vapor, chemically deposited dust, dirt and other explosive media that may seriously damage transformer insulation.

Operating Instructions & Precautions

  1. The equipment must be properly earthed.
  2. Switch on the power supply; the red indicator lamp lights up. Press the green start button, then the operation indicator illuminates. Hold the boost button to raise current until reaching the required value. The timing button supports time setting automatically. Once timing completes, the buzzer sounds and the contactor stops operation. Return the voltage regulator to zero before the next test. If any abnormality occurs during testing, cut off power immediately and do not restart the test until the fault is identified.
  3. Disconnect the working power supply before removing test wiring after test completion to guarantee safety.

Current Booster — Application Scenarios

The Current Booster is widely used in power industry. It provides high output current for temperature rise test of switches, circuit breakers and busbars, as well as load tests for current transformers. It can also be adopted for on-site acceptance test and routine inspection of electrical equipment in substations and industrial plants.

FAQ – Current Booster

Q1: What is a Current Booster used for?

A: It generates high test current to perform temperature rise tests on switches, busbars and circuit breakers, as well as load tests for current transformers.

Q2: What structure types are available?

A: We provide integrated compact models and split high-current versions for selection according to testing requirements.

Q3: Can the output current be adjusted continuously?

A: Yes. The output current is stepless adjustable within the rated range to meet different test requirements.

Q4: What power supply does the current booster require?

A: Common input power includes AC 220V or 380V, customized voltage options are available on request.

Q5: How long can the equipment run continuously during testing?

A: Continuous operating time depends on load current. Avoid long-term full-load operation without adequate ventilation.

Q6: Does the unit have protection functions?

A: It supports overheat protection. If abnormal overheating occurs, stop the test immediately to prevent equipment damage.

Q7: Is grounding required before operation?

A: Mandatory. The equipment must be reliably earthed to guarantee operator safety during high-current testing.

Q8: What should be done after finishing a test?

A: Turn down the voltage regulator to zero first, then cut off power supply, and remove test cables safely.

Q9: Can this booster be used for on-site substation tests?

A: Yes. It is suitable for factory testing as well as on-site acceptance inspection in substations and industrial power plants.

Q10: Can you provide factory test reports?

A: Standard factory test documents are supplied with shipment. Third-party calibration certificates can be provided as extra service.
