Operating Steps for Ferrography Instrument

  1. Place the ferrograph substrate correctly on the holder and set the installation angle (2°/3°/4°).
  2. Prepare oil sample and cleaning liquid, connect pipelines and check the dual-pump system.
  3. Switch on the instrument, set pumping speed, flow rate and timer parameters via touch screen.
  4. Start the oil sample delivery; metal wear particles are separated and arranged on the substrate under magnetic field.
  5. After sampling, run cleaning liquid to flush the pipeline.
  6. Take out the finished ferrograph slide, observe wear debris with microscope and conduct image analysis.
  7. Shut down the equipment and clean all pipelines for the next test.

FAQ for Ferrography Instrument

Q1: What is the function of a ferrography instrument?

A1: It separates metal wear particles from lubricating oil by magnetic force. Wear debris is sorted on the ferrograph slide by size. Operators analyze particle morphology to evaluate mechanical wear status and predict equipment failures.

Q2: What magnetic performance does the DK101 model have?

A2: The maximum magnetic flux density at the gap center exceeds 1.0 T, and the maximum magnetic gradient is greater than 5.0 T/cm, which ensures effective separation of wear particles.

Q3: Can I adjust the flow rate of oil sample and cleaning liquid?

A3: Yes. The pumping speed has 1–100 adjustable grades. The flow rates of oil sample and cleaning liquid can be set separately to meet different analysis requirements.

Q4: What angles are available for installing ferrograph slides?

A4: Three stepped angles: 2°, 3°, 4°, which can be selected according to testing standards.

Q5: Does this instrument adopt a single pump or dual-pump structure?

A5: It uses an independent dual-pump system for oil sample and cleaning liquid. The separated pipeline design reduces blockage and equipment faults.

Q6: Is a microscope included in standard delivery?

A6: Microscope is an optional accessory; both imported and domestic types are available, matched with an image analysis system.

Q7: What are the power and dimension parameters of the instrument?

A7: Power supply: AC220V, 50Hz; power 500W; overall dimension 400mm×300mm×300mm; weight 15kg.

Q8: Is the cleaning bottle equipped with anti-overflow protection?

A8: Yes. The standard GL45 cleaning bottle has a volume of 250 mL and built-in anti-overflow function.

Q9: Can the timer issue an alarm when time expires?

A9: The timer ranges from 0 to 99 minutes and supports an audible reminder upon completion.
