HF-CH-220 Cable Identifier is portable test equipment for power cable engineers to identify target cables. It judges energized status accurately and avoids serious accidents from mistakenly cutting live cables.
The system comprises a handheld receiver and a stethoscope sensor, with an optional flexible current clamp for diversified field applications.

Receiver

Handheld main unit with a 3.5-inch color LCD and built-in high-speed microprocessor. Precise algorithms support cable identification.

Stethoscope Sensor

Mouse-shaped arc sensor that fits closely to cable surfaces. Adopts wireless electromagnetic induction technology with strong anti-interference performance. No wiring required at cable ends. It distinguishes energized cables among dense cable bundles. Easy to attach to cables, perfect for sites where flexible clamps cannot be deployed.

Flexible Current Clamp (Rogowski Coil)

Features good tracking capacity for thick and irregular conductors. Inner diameter φ200 mm, suitable for cables below 200 mm. Realizes non-intrusive measurement without disconnecting cables, safe and fast.

FAQ for Cable Voltage Detector

Q1: What is a Cable Voltage Detector used for?

A: It detects induced voltage on buried power cables to preliminarily judge whether the cable is energized, preventing accidental cutting of live cables during construction and maintenance.

Q2: What is the difference between Cable Voltage Detector and Cable Identifier?

A: Cable Voltage Detector judges if a cable carries voltage. Cable Identifier picks out the target cable among multiple parallel cables. They are often used together on site.

Q3: Can this instrument directly confirm zero voltage of a cable?

A: It serves as preliminary screening. For final confirmation, a High Voltage Cable Spiking Tool is required to perform puncture verification.

Q4: Does it need to strip cable insulation during testing?

A: No. It works via electromagnetic induction, non-contact measurement without damaging cable outer sheath.

Q5: Is it applicable for both high voltage and low voltage power cables?

A: It supports common LV and HV underground cables. Please check the rated voltage range before testing.

Q6: Will adjacent cables interfere with measurement results?

A: Strong electromagnetic interference may cause induction signals. Operators should adjust gain and reposition the sensor for reliable judgment.

Q7: What environment is suitable for testing?

A: Use in dry, open areas. Avoid heavy rain, strong magnetic fields and corrosive surroundings to guarantee accuracy and service life.

Q8: What accessories are normally included in the package?

A: Main detector unit, induction sensor, connecting wires, rechargeable battery, charger and operation manual.

Q9: What are other names for this equipment?

A: Live Cable Voltage Tester, Portable Cable Live Detector, Underground Cable Voltage Checker.

Q10: What safety precautions should be observed?

A: Always wear standard insulating PPE. Do not touch cable conductors. Do not rely solely on this detector for final de-energized confirmation.
