FAQ: Surge Arrester Leakage Current Tester
Q1: What is the core function of the Surge Arrester Leakage Current Tester?
A1: It measures total leakage current, resistive & capacitive current components and harmonic values of zinc oxide surge arresters, to judge insulation aging, internal dampness and valve plate degradation without removing arresters from service.
Q2: Can this device carry out both live-line energized testing and offline power-off testing?
A2: Yes. It supports two working scenarios: on-site live detection for running arresters and laboratory offline calibration tests, fully adapting to daily power system preventive maintenance.
Q3: What synchronization modes are available for voltage reference collection?
A3: Three options are provided: wired voltage synchronous sampling, angle calculation synchronization without voltage wiring, and current analysis synchronization, flexible for various complicated substation wiring environments.
Q4: Is it safe for field live-line measurement?
A4: Absolutely safe. The internal circuit voltage is lower than 8.4 V; current and voltage sensors are completely electrically isolated, eliminating electric shock risks for operators during live tests.
Q5: What ways can be used to collect leakage current signals?
A5: Two optional collection methods: sampling via arrester counter terminals directly, or clamping the arrester grounding wire with an external current clamp for non-intrusive signal acquisition.
Q6: Does the tester work well in harsh electromagnetic interference substation environments?
A6: Yes. It adopts high-speed sampling plus digital filtering and harmonic spectrum analysis technologies, featuring strong anti-interference performance to guarantee stable and accurate measuring results under strong electromagnetic fields.
Q7: How long can the built-in lithium battery last on a full charge?
A7: Charging time needs more than 2.5 hours; continuous working time exceeds 7 hours, and intermittent standby time can reach over 7 consecutive days, suitable for all-day outdoor field operations without mains power.
Q8: Can test data be exported and printed as formal reports?
A8: Yes. Test records can be stored onboard, exported to USB flash drive in Word format; optional Bluetooth function enables data upload, remote control and report generation via mobile phone APP.
Q9: Is bilingual Chinese & English interface available?
A9: The Chinese-English switching function is optional, which meets the operation demands of overseas power projects and international EPC clients.
Q10: Can it test three-phase A/B/C surge arresters in one set of measurement?
A10: Supported. It can test phase A, B and C separately, and store one complete group of three-phase test data for comparison analysis conveniently.
