The medium-voltage monitoring terminal samples the primary load of phases A, B and C on the 10 kV line, and uploads the collected data remotely to the monitoring system via GPRS. The secondary-side load of the energy meters for phases A, B and C collected by the power consumption acquisition system is imported into the monitoring system. The system converts the primary load by transformation ratio and compares and analyzes it with the secondary load, so as to realize real-time monitoring of the 10 kV line.
Functional Features

Significance of Electricity Theft Detection Equipment
Electricity theft detection equipment serves as a critical tool for power grid operation management. It realizes real-time comparison between primary-side line load and secondary-side metering load, quickly identifies abnormal power loss on medium-voltage distribution networks, and accurately locates electricity theft users and metering faults.
It effectively curbs illegal electricity stealing behaviors, reduces power supply enterprises’ economic losses caused by line power leakage and metering discrepancies, improves the recovery rate of electric energy charges. Meanwhile, it helps discover hidden risks such as abnormal wiring, damaged metering devices and CT faults, standardizes power consumption order, enhances the lean management level of distribution networks, and safeguards the safe, stable and economical operation of the 10kV power distribution system.
FAQ
Q1: What voltage levels does this electricity theft detection equipment support?
A1: It is applicable to 0.38kV ~ 35kV distribution lines, mainly deployed on 10kV medium voltage overhead lines and cable circuits.
Q2: What is the working principle of the equipment?
A2: The terminal samples the primary three-phase load of the line, uploads data remotely via GPRS. The background system compares primary load (after transformation ratio conversion) with secondary metering load from energy meters. Abnormal deviations will alert suspected electricity theft or metering faults.
Q3: What is the maximum measurable current range?
A3: Current sampling range: 0 ~ 400A, which covers most conventional 10kV distribution branch loads.
Q4: Can the device work outdoors in harsh weather?
A4: Yes. The protection class reaches IP67. Operating temperature ranges from -25°C to 70°C, and it can withstand relative humidity up to 95%. Suitable for field outdoor installation.
Q5: How long is the design service life?
A5: The design service life is 10 years under normal operating conditions.
Q6: Does it require power outage for installation?
A6: Adopts non-contact current sampling design. Live-line installation is available without cutting off power supply, minimizing power supply interruption.
Q7: How does the equipment transmit monitoring data?
A7: Built-in GPRS communication module, automatically uploads sampling data to the monitoring system remotely.
Q8: What problems can this equipment identify besides electricity theft?
A8: It can detect abnormal line loss, CT failure, incorrect wiring, damaged metering devices and other hidden distribution network faults.
Q9: What are the physical dimensions and weight of the detector?
A9: Dimension: 166mm × 85mm × 40mm; Net weight: 0.4kg. Compact size, easy for field installation.
